Rewind was a personal memory app that recorded and indexed activity on a computer so users could search past screens, audio, and meetings. It became Limitless, was acquired by Meta, and the original Rewind capture product is no longer active.

What Rewind was
Rewind launched as a macOS app that continuously captured screen and audio activity, stored recordings locally, and made past information searchable. It later added meeting transcription, summaries, and an AI assistant that could answer questions about a user's recorded history.
The company rebranded to Limitless in 2024 and shifted toward a cloud service and wearable Pendant. After Meta acquired Limitless in December 2025, Rewind's screen and audio capture was disabled on December 19, 2025. The current rewind.ai domain belongs to a different, unaffiliated AI-tools platform.
