What Qodo Cover (formerly Cover-Agent) was

Cover-Agent was renamed Qodo Cover after CodiumAI became Qodo. The tool used an LLM to generate unit tests, executed the project's test command, read a coverage report, and iterated toward a target coverage percentage.

Qodo marked the repository as no longer maintained on June 15, 2025 and invited users to fork it. The source remains available under AGPL-3.0 for historical use and experimentation, but it should not be adopted as a supported, actively developed testing product.

Past capabilities

What Qodo Cover (formerly Cover-Agent) offered

Coverage-guided generation

Targeted uncovered code and iterated toward a configurable coverage goal.

Test execution loop

Ran generated tests and retained candidates that passed and improved measured coverage.

CLI and CI use

Could run locally or through preview GitHub Actions workflows.

Multi-model access

Used LiteLLM to call OpenAI and other compatible model providers with user-supplied credentials.

Availability

Why this listing is historical

The archived source code has no purchase price and is licensed under AGPL-3.0. Users must supply and pay for their own LLM API usage, CI compute, maintenance, and security work. The old Qodo Cover Pro preview is not a current supported pricing offer.

  • The repository is no longer maintained, so compatibility, dependencies, security, and bugs are the user's responsibility.
  • Higher line coverage does not prove meaningful assertions, correct behavior, low flakiness, or adequate risk coverage.
  • The workflow requires project-specific test commands, coverage tooling, model credentials, and careful human review.

Questions

Qodo Cover (formerly Cover-Agent) FAQs

Is Cover-Agent still active?

No. It became Qodo Cover, and Qodo marked the repository as no longer maintained on June 15, 2025.

Can I still use Qodo Cover?

The source is still available to fork under AGPL-3.0. Doing so means taking responsibility for dependencies, security, compatibility, model costs, and maintenance.

How did Cover-Agent work?

It used an LLM to propose tests, ran the project's test command, read the coverage report, and iterated when tests failed or coverage had not reached the configured target.
