SciPhi offered managed deployment for R2R, an open-source retrieval system with document ingestion, hybrid search, knowledge graphs, agentic RAG, citations, and a REST API. Its purpose was to help developers move retrieval applications from a prototype into a hosted production environment.
The former SciPhi website, cloud endpoints, and documentation are no longer maintained as an active product surface. Y Combinator now lists the company from the same Winter 2024 lineage as Event Horizon Labs, an AI research company focused on investing. The public R2R repository remains available for teams that want to examine or self-host the framework.
Past capabilities
SciPhi hosted R2R retrieval pipelines so developers did not have to operate the full stack themselves.
R2R was designed to ingest documents and media across formats for retrieval workflows.
The framework combined semantic and keyword search and could construct knowledge graphs.
Later R2R versions added citation-backed retrieval and multi-step research through a REST API.
Availability
Historical pricing advertised a Free Cloud tier, a $25-per-month Dev Cloud tier, and custom Enterprise service. These prices are archival and are not current offers.

SciPhi was a managed cloud platform for deploying retrieval-augmented generation systems built with the open-source R2R framework.
The R2R source code remains publicly accessible on GitHub under the MIT license, but teams should assess its current maintenance and production suitability before adopting it.
