Teams with more PRs than reviewers can deeply inspect
Add a systematic first pass for correctness issues before a human makes the merge decision.

Overview
Claude Code Review analyzes a pull request with several specialized agents working in parallel against the diff and surrounding codebase. A verification stage checks candidate findings, deduplicates them and ranks them by severity before Claude posts an overview and source-level comments on GitHub.
Anthropic positions this as a deep review rather than a fast lint pass. The service is in research preview for Team and Enterprise organizations, averages about 20 minutes per review and is billed separately by token usage. It can strengthen review coverage, but it does not approve or block a pull request and should remain one input to a human-owned review process.
Use cases
The strongest fit depends on the job you need the product to complete, not the size of its feature list.
Add a systematic first pass for correctness issues before a human makes the merge decision.
Use multiple agents to inspect a change in the context of surrounding files and code paths.
Provide repository-wide instructions in CLAUDE.md and review-specific rules in REVIEW.md.
Choose triggers by repository, set monthly caps and monitor review cost and acceptance analytics.
Capabilities
A fleet of agents inspects the diff and codebase for logic errors, vulnerabilities, broken edge cases and regressions.
A separate step checks potential issues against code behavior to reduce low-confidence and duplicate comments.
Results arrive as an overview plus inline findings labeled as normal bugs, minor nits or pre-existing issues.
Run once when a PR opens, after every push or only when someone manually comments an @claude review command.
Claude reads CLAUDE.md rules and an optional root REVIEW.md file to learn what the team wants flagged or ignored.
Admins can enable selected repositories, cap monthly review spend and inspect weekly or per-repository cost analytics.
Process
Step 1
A Team or Enterprise administrator enables Code Review, installs the GitHub App and selects repositories.
Step 2
Configure one review at PR creation, reviews after every push or manual-only operation.
Step 3
Keep general repository instructions in CLAUDE.md and put review-only expectations in REVIEW.md.
Step 4
Developers verify each inline comment, fix confirmed bugs and dismiss incorrect or irrelevant findings.
Step 5
A qualified reviewer evaluates architecture, tests, security and product impact before approving the pull request.
Cost
Code Review is usage-based and billed separately from the included Team or Enterprise subscription usage. Anthropic says reviews generally average $15–$25, with cost scaling by pull-request size and complexity. Triggering a review after every push can charge multiple reviews for the same PR.
Typically $15–$25/review
Token-billed managed review available to eligible Team and Enterprise organizations.
$20/month annual or $25 monthly
The lower-cost team seat with Claude Code access; Code Review usage is additional.
$100/month annual or $125 monthly
A higher-usage team seat; Code Review usage remains separately billed.
$20/seat/month plus usage
Annual enterprise access with token usage billed at API rates; sales-assisted terms may vary.

It looks for correctness problems such as logic errors, security vulnerabilities, broken edge cases and regressions. Team-specific instructions can add additional checks through CLAUDE.md and REVIEW.md.
Anthropic says a review generally costs about $15–$25, with the exact token-billed amount scaling with the size and complexity of the pull request. An eligible Team or Enterprise subscription is also required.
No. It posts findings but does not approve or block a PR. A human reviewer remains responsible for the merge decision.
Yes. A repository can use manual triggers, and a collaborator can comment @claude review once for a single run without opting into a new review after every later push.
No. Anthropic's current documentation says the managed Code Review research preview is not available to organizations with Zero Data Retention enabled.
Bottom line
Claude Code Review is a compelling high-depth option for teams whose human reviewers are overloaded, especially when repository rules and spend caps are configured carefully. Its multi-agent verification is differentiated, but the preview status, roughly 20-minute runtime and $15–$25 typical cost make manual or once-per-PR triggers a sensible starting point. Human approval and existing deterministic checks should remain mandatory.
