What Sora 2 was
OpenAI introduced Sora 2 on September 30, 2025 as a video-and-audio generation model with improved physical consistency, multi-shot control, realistic and stylized output, synchronized speech, sound effects, and environmental audio.
The model was delivered through sora.com and a standalone Sora app. OpenAI also described a higher-quality Sora 2 Pro option for ChatGPT Pro users during the product's active period.
