What ChatGPT Atlas was
ChatGPT Atlas launched in October 2025 as a macOS browser with ChatGPT built into browsing. It offered an Ask ChatGPT sidebar, optional browser memories, and a preview agent mode that could navigate sites and complete tasks.
OpenAI discontinued Atlas on August 9, 2026 and moved browser-based agent work into ChatGPT and Codex. Former users should export any remaining bookmarks or important URLs and move to the ChatGPT desktop app, ChatGPT's Chrome extension or sidebar, or another supported browser.
