Overview
Intercom Copilot is designed for human support agents, not for answering customers autonomously. An agent can ask a question from a conversation or ticket, inspect the cited company sources and add an edited answer to the reply composer.
Its usefulness depends heavily on the quality and scope of the workspace's Knowledge Hub. Copilot can draw from public and internal articles, snippets, PDFs, selected external knowledge tools, websites, macros and recent Intercom conversation history.
Copilot is distinct from Fin AI Agent. Fin handles customer-facing automated resolutions, while Copilot assists teammates inside the inbox. The two products can use overlapping knowledge, but they have different capabilities and pricing.
Use cases
The strongest fit depends on the job you need the product to complete, not the size of its feature list.
Agents who need to search several approved sources while handling a live customer conversation.
New teammates learning internal procedures, policies and established resolution patterns in the inbox.
Support organizations turning approved articles, snippets and macros into more consistent human-reviewed replies.
Capabilities
Answers agent questions inside conversations and tickets and surfaces the supporting sources for verification.
Can use Intercom articles, snippets, PDFs, websites, Zendesk, Confluence, Guru, Notion, Salesforce and Freshdesk content when configured.
Can learn from up to four months of selected Messenger conversations and customer-ticket history, with optional attribute matching.
Adds an answer to the composer, adjusts tone or phrasing on qualifying plans and recommends or saves reusable macros.
Lets an agent restrict a question to selected source types when a policy or internal article should take priority.
Process
Step 1
Enable only current, approved sources and define which teammates' prior conversations Copilot may use.
Step 2
Open Copilot from the relevant conversation, provide the missing context and filter sources when needed.
Step 3
Open the cited source, check customer-specific details and edit the generated reply before it reaches the customer.
Cost
Every full-seat teammate on current Intercom plans receives 10 Copilot conversations or tickets per month at no extra charge. Unlimited usage is an optional add-on for selected teammates at $29 per agent per month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, with fair-use limits. An eligible paid Intercom seat is still required.

Choose Notion AI when the primary need is searching and drafting from company knowledge rather than assisting agents inside a customer-support inbox.

Intercom Copilot is a support-agent assistant inside the Intercom Inbox. It finds sourced answers from configured company knowledge and helps agents prepare human-reviewed customer replies.
No. Copilot assists a human teammate in the inbox. Fin AI Agent is the customer-facing product that can resolve conversations autonomously.
Current full-seat teammates receive 10 Copilot conversations or tickets per month. Unlimited usage costs $29 per enabled agent per month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, in addition to the required Intercom seat.
Configured sources can include public and internal articles, snippets, PDFs, websites, macros, synced knowledge tools and up to four months of selected Messenger conversations and customer tickets.
Copilot generates a sourced answer that an agent can add to the composer and edit. The agent remains responsible for checking the source and sending the reply.
Bottom line
Intercom Copilot is a logical productivity add-on for teams already committed to Intercom and willing to maintain a trustworthy knowledge base. Its source visibility and inbox integration are the real advantages; teams should pilot it with their own difficult tickets and measure time saved before enabling unlimited seats broadly.
