Audience research
Finding public posts from specific communities, accounts, or time periods around a product, market, or problem.
Independent tool overview
Advanced Twitter Search, formerly listed here as Creative Twitter Search Guide, is a custom ChatGPT assistant that turns a research goal into focused X search queries. It helps combine topics, people, phrases, exclusions, dates, and other filters without requiring users to memorize search syntax.

Overview
Advanced Twitter Search is a small, single-purpose GPT created by Shai Unterslak. Tell it what topic, person, conversation, lead signal, or historical post you want to find, and it drafts query ideas that can be copied into X search.
The assistant is most useful as a query-writing layer. X's own advanced search can combine all words, exact phrases, alternatives, excluded terms, hashtags, languages, accounts, mentions, replies, places, and date ranges. The GPT helps translate a plain-English research question into those narrower combinations.
It does not replace a social-listening platform. The GPT does not provide scheduled monitoring, guaranteed full-history coverage, bulk export, or an independent X data feed; the final results still come from X and depend on the platform's search index, filters, and the user's account settings.
Use cases
The strongest fit depends on the job you need the product to complete, not the size of its feature list.
Finding public posts from specific communities, accounts, or time periods around a product, market, or problem.
Drafting searches for people publicly asking for recommendations, discussing a pain point, or comparing products.
Locating recurring questions, strong opinions, examples, and historical conversations before writing a post or article.
Combining a brand or person's name with exact phrases, exclusions, dates, mentions, and account filters to narrow noisy results.
Capabilities
Describe what you are trying to find instead of assembling every X search condition manually.
Build searches around all words, exact phrases, alternative terms, exclusions, and hashtags.
Narrow research to posts from an account, replies to an account, or posts that mention an account.
Add date ranges and language constraints when the question is tied to a launch, event, region, or historical period.
Generate multiple angles for the same research goal so synonyms and different audience wording are less likely to be missed.
Ask for a clean query or search link that can be opened and tested directly in X, then refine it based on the returned posts.
Process
Step 1
State the topic, target audience, desired signal, time period, and any accounts or phrases that must be included.
Step 2
Ask the GPT for broad, exact-match, account-specific, and exclusion-heavy versions instead of relying on one search.
Step 3
Open each query while signed in to X and compare Top and Latest results, adjusting safe-search settings when appropriate.
Step 4
Use wording found in relevant posts to add synonyms, exclusions, hashtags, or account constraints to the next query.
Step 5
Keep proven queries in X or a separate research system; the custom GPT itself is not a monitoring dashboard.
Cost
The Advanced Twitter Search GPT has no separate subscription. OpenAI says GPTs are available to all signed-in ChatGPT users, including Free users, while message limits and model access depend on the user's ChatGPT plan.
$0
Signed-in Free users can discover and use existing GPTs within their available ChatGPT limits.
Optional
Paid plans provide broader ChatGPT usage and features but do not create a separate Advanced Twitter Search subscription.
$0
X's standard advanced search is available on the web when signed in.

The right alternative depends on the specific output, workflow, controls and budget your project requires.
Business Operations
Grok is integrated with the X ecosystem and is better suited to conversational analysis of current public discussions, though results still require verification.

General ChatGPT can draft and refine the same kinds of search queries while also supporting broader research and writing workflows.

Perplexity is a stronger option when the research goal extends beyond X to cited sources across the wider web.

The same live custom GPT is currently titled Advanced Twitter Search. This page keeps the original slug so existing links continue to work while using the current product name.
There is no separate charge for the GPT. OpenAI says signed-in Free users can use existing GPTs, subject to their ChatGPT plan limits.
Its public description says it creates search queries. Treat it as a query generator: run and validate the resulting search in X rather than assuming the GPT has complete direct access to X's index.
X officially supports combinations of words, exact phrases, alternative and excluded terms, hashtags, languages, accounts, mentions, replies, locations, and date ranges on the web.
No dedicated alerts or monitoring dashboard are advertised. Save proven searches separately or use a social-listening product when continuous monitoring, export, or reporting is required.
Bottom line
Advanced Twitter Search is a handy prompt shortcut for occasional X research, particularly when a user knows the signal they want but not the best query structure. It is not a substitute for an authenticated data pipeline or monitoring suite. The best workflow is to generate several query variants, test each in X, and refine them using the language found in real posts.
