🚨 ChatGPT Bug Exposes Chat History

A recent bug in OpenAI's ChatGPT exposed the titles of some users' past conversations to others, as first reported by Bloomberg

We now know the nightmare ChatGPT outage on Monday was caused by the bug that made many AI enthusiasts take a hit in productivity, and realize how quickly they've become reliant on the chatbot. Here's a quick rundown:

  • The bug allowed a small percentage of users to view other users' conversation titles.

  • The content of the conversations remained private.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed the bug's origin in an open-source library and assured that only a small percentage of users were affected:

Our friendly reminder: Be cautious when using AI tools still in development or beta testing phases like ChatGPT. Keep your information safe by not sharing any sensitive details during AI-based conversations.

💻 Github Copilot X

GitHub released Copilot X, an upgraded version of Copilot, to power up the developer experience to write code faster and more efficiently using AI.

Exciting new features of GitHub Copilot X include:

  • Chat and voice interface for more accessible communication within the editor.

🅾️ Opera

A day after Edge announced injecting their browser with an AI-image generator, Opera launched a suite of AI tools in Opera Browser and Opera GX.

The AI tools are built with ChatGPT, and Chatsonic is integrated directly into their browser.

Key features include:

  • AI Prompts: Accessible when highlighting text or from the address bar- interpret, summarize, and explore the web according to your interests and needs.

  • Sidebar access to ChatGPT and ChatSonic: Web versions assist with various queries and issues, from generating ideas to drafting the text.

The pre-made AI prompts bring a unique new browsing experience to users and will make crafting prompts even easier for beginners or when you're just feeling lazy.

The best part: there's no waiting list. You can download or update your existing Opera browser and start using it now.
