The Rundown: NVIDIA researchers just created an AI agent called Eureka, which can automatically generate algorithms to train robots — enabling them to learn complex skills faster.
The details:
Eureka taps large language models to write reward code for robot reinforcement learning.
The system continually improves by evaluating results and modifying rewards — outperforming human-written algorithms over 80% of the time in tests.
Eureka trained a robot hand to expertly spin pens, open drawers, and perform other dextrous tasks.

The Rundown: After being caught off-guard by the AI wave, Apple is now mobilizing to build generative AI into all of its products and catch up to rivals, according to a new report from Bloomberg.
The details:
Apple wants to deeply integrate a new version of Siri, powered by a proprietary large language model.
Planned new AI features include smarter auto-complete in Messages, playlist creation in Music, code suggestions in Xcode, and more.
Internal concerns remain about whether Apple's AI tech can match the strengths of models like ChatGPT, LaMDA, and Claude.
Apple is still debating tradeoffs between on-device versus cloud processing for different AI features.
