The Rundown: OpenAI began rolling out a new version of ChatGPT that combines all GPT-4 capabilities — Browsing, DALL-E 3, and Data Analysis — without needing to switch between modes.
The details:
The update gives access to all ChatGPT features within the main interface — without toggling through multiple modes.
Users can now upload PDFs and documents with the ability to ‘chat’ or analyze them similarly to Claude and other GPT wrappers.
The release comes ahead of next week’s highly anticipated OpenAI Dev Day, which is expected to have additional major announcements.
The new rollout doesn’t (yet) include plugins — and also found in the code are references to a mysterious "GPT-4 Magic Create”.
The update is slowly getting rolled out to ChatGPT premium users — if you don’t have it yet, just keep spamming refresh.

The Rundown: Google just invested up to a whopping $2 billion more in Anthropic, whose LLM Claude has emerged as a serious competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The details:
This adds to Google's previous $550M investment made earlier this year, bringing its total to $2.55B.
The move follows Amazon's recent $4B investment in Anthropic as tech giants continue to ally with AI startups.
Anthropic also signed a $3B+ deal to use Google Cloud, aligning on resources as Google aims to catch up in cloud computing by tying its services to leading AI innovations.
Why it matters: The race is on between AI startups competing for resources and partners. Tech giants are placing their bets on the future AI leaders — and Google and Amazon are two eye-popping names to have on the investor list.

AI TRAINING
ChatGPT’s latest rollout allows you to upload an image (of anything) without saying what the object is and generating another variation.
Here is a creative example of how to leverage the new combination via @ldjconfirmed:
Upload an image: For this example, the user uploaded a realistic photo of a capybara. Try it with your pet, a favorite photo you’ve taken, etc.
Prompt: Direct ChatGPT to create an image based on your uploaded one in a particular style, format, etc. Ex: “Turn the attached photo of [subject] into [an oil painting, cartoon character, etc.]
Refine and iterate: Continue conversationally editing and directing ChatGPT to make changes as needed!
