๐Ÿ“– Stanford's Groundbreaking AI Study

Stanford AI researchers introduced an incredible new paper: "Generative Agents," which focuses on simulating authentic human behavior using generative models.

In the study, researchers equipped 25 AI agents with memory, reflection, and planning capabilities and then placed them in a simulated town similar to The Sims. The agents exhibited remarkable behaviors, such as organizing a Valentine's Day party, and were even rated as more human-like than actual humans participating in role-playing.

The bottom line: The implications of this study is massive. Entire virtual worlds could be created, and NPCs in video games could have more complex personalities.

๐Ÿ‘“ Operating Your Life Through AR Glasses

Stanford students continue to innovate with the invention of LifeOS, an AI-driven operating system for AR smart glasses.

Created by the same team behind RizzGPT (covered in our previous issue), LifeOS uses computer vision to act as a personal AI assistant delivered directly through AR smart glasses. The system utilizes GPT-4, Apple's speech framework for transcription, and Brilliant Labs facial recognition to recognize faces and provide relevant details about a person during conversations. ๐Ÿ…ฐ๏ธ Alibaba Reveals ChatGPT Rival

Alibaba just revealed its ChatGPT-like product, Tongyi Qianwen. The AI model will be integrated into Tmall Genie (the Chinese version of Amazon Echo) and office chat software.

The chatbot will also be available to clients on the cloud, helping developers create their own large language models.

Of note: Following the announcement, Alibaba's stock rose as much as 3.8%. Good thing you read all of The Rundown's emails, so you anticipated this from our previous issue (you're welcome ๐Ÿ˜‰).
